چکیده
Objective: To investigate the relation between angiotensinogen gene (AGT) polymorphism and glioma in a Chinese population. Methods: Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method was used to detect AGT M235T polymorphism in 243 cases of nerve glioma patients and 325 cases of healthy controls. The M235T genotype distribution was compared between the case and control group. Results: Compared with the TT genotype, MM and MT genotypes frequency significantly increased in gliomas patients (both P<0.05). Compared with the T allele, M allele significantly increased the risk of gliomas (P<0.05, OR=1.436, 95% CI: 1.102-1.871). Conclusion: AGT M235T polymorphism was associated with the risk for glioma in Chinese population.

Effects of angiotensinogen gene polymorphisms on the risk of coronary heart disease in the Chinese population: a meta-analysis
Objective Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a multifactorial disease. This meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the relationship between angiotensinogen gene polymorphisms and CHD in the Chinese population. Methods We searched literature in pubmed (19902010.8) and CNKI (1990-2010.8) for all the relevant studies on 2 angiotensinogen polymorphisms (M235T and T174M) and risk of CHD. The meta-anal...
متن کاملFREQUENCY OF C3435 MDR1 AND A6896G CYP3A5 SINGLE NUCLEOTIDE POLYMORPHISM IN AN IRANIAN POPULATION AND COMPARISON WITH OTHER ETHNIC GROUPS
ABSTRACT Background: It is well recognized that different patients respond in different ways to medications. The inter-individual variations are greater than the intera- individual variations, a finding consistent with the notion that inheritance is a determinant of drug responses. The recent identification of genetic polymorphisms in drug-metabolizing enzymes and drug transporters led to the ...
متن کاملAssociation between genetic polymorphisms of PTGS2 and glioma in a Chinese population.
Several previous studies indicated that genetic polymorphisms in inflammatory factor genes were associated with glioma risk. However, the relationship between the prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2) genetic polymorphism and glioma remains unclear in the Chinese population. We selected 199 histologically confirmed adult glioma patients and 199 cancer-free controls for the present study...
متن کاملXRCC1 Gene Polymorphisms and Glioma Risk in Chinese Population: A Meta-Analysis
BACKGROUND Three extensively investigated polymorphisms (Arg399Gln, Arg194Trp, and Arg280His) in the X-ray repair cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) gene have been implicated in risk for glioma. However, the results from different studies remain inconsistent. To clarify these conflicts, we performed a quantitative synthesis of the evidence to elucidate these associations in the Chinese populat...
متن کاملDNA repair gene ERCC1 polymorphisms and glioma susceptibility among Chinese population: a meta-analysis.
BACKGROUND Excision repair cross complementation group 1 (ERCC1) has been shown to be involved in the progression of glioma susceptibility. However, the results remain conflict. The aim of this study was to systematically review and evaluate the role of ERCC1 C118T and C8092A polymorphisms in glioma risk among Chinese population. METHODS Related case-control studies were searched in online el...
